HCafe's Themed Nights Buffet

By: Emelie Anggoy on Saturday, June 24, 2017 | 0

I am always fascinated how Cebu has grown and improved when it comes to the food business sector. Everyday, a lot of restaurants are sprouting like mushrooms in the City making their own signature tastes and styles with the goal to satisfy their customers’ hungry stomachs, thirsty throats or even curious minds. Do they really make an impact to the customers’ tastebuds and inquisitive mindset? Are the customers willing to come back? Well, this really depends on the restaurant’s effort to please the people and the prize it associates.

Tell me: Do you know of a restaurant that caught not only your hungry stomach but also your inquisitive mind? Would you agree to dine in a restaurant with different themes throughout the week and keep coming back for more? Well… if you ask me, I did know one in Cebu and YES, it made me want to keep coming back! (I bet you guys would do it too!)

HCafe, located at the ground Floor of Harolds Hotel, serves enjoyable and gastronomic dinner experience to Cebuanos and tourists with their NEW Themed Nights buffet with local twists. This has been officially out in the open just this year every 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM everyday (except Sunday because it’s a rest day).
At a price of 458 pesos for every person, you got to enjoy variety of foods that compliments your mood on that particular day plus salads, desserts and limitless mocktail drinks included.

Grills, grills!

As for me, I dined in this restaurant on a  Thursday. It was just so amazing and totally worth it. I was with my blogger friends that time. We laughed, shared stories, made fun with each other over a sumptuous “Grill Gone Wild” kind of themed dinner. The whole experience was totally fun, tasty and unforgettable.

More grills!

There were also several food choices aside from grills on that night. I tasted their tender and crispy Harolds Lechon Belly, Roasted Peppercorn Chicken and Tuna with Cucumber. I got to choose my favorite salad - Greek, Fruit Macaroni and Coleslaw with Raisin and Nuts. I spoiled myself in their Maki Station as well as indulged in their sweet corner - cupcakes, cakes, brownies and a bunch of other sweets! And oh, their Laksa Noodle Station was so good too.

So much salad. I don't know what to choose. Okay, I'll taste them all!

Cupcakes and everything sweet. My heart!

Some more sweets!

Asian people will surely love.

Skin Day Out at KEVLO

By: Emelie Anggoy on Saturday, June 17, 2017 | 0

How did I celebrate my birthday a few days ago? Well, I opted for a royal and relaxing facial treatment! Then an ice cream treat afterwards because who would not love that?

Together with some friends, my instagram buddy Rady invited me for a skin day out at Kevlo Skin Clinic on that special day of mine, my birthday.  I heard great things about their products online, so I was very keen to try it for myself. And I was in no way disappointed. In fact, my expectations were met.
And nope, he didn't know it was my birthday because I had these feelings he would post those awkwardly stolen pictures on my timeline and I just didn't want that to happen. Hahaha sorry Rady!

Kevlo Skin Clinic has 2 branches in Cebu City:
- 2nd level of Bonifacio District, F. Cabahug St., Panagdait (across Citi Park Hotel, the old Paseo) +63933 854 1347
- 2nd level of Orange Bldg., Gov. Cuenco Ave, Nasipit, Talamban (across the entrance of USC Engineering Bldg.) +63916 794 0456

We went to Panagdait branch. The clinic is new and has a very good ambiance which is perfect for instagram post if you'd like to. Their staff is super friendly. In fact one of them braided my hair and it was just so classy!

Before going on with the procedure, we had a chitchat with the owners of the skin clinic - Mr. Mark Phillip Geniston and his daughter Lovely Geniston. They narrated how they come up with the business and what were their products and services. They started as a distributor of skin care products in 2007 and now working on opening clinic branches in the city.

They also educated us about the five ways on how to care for our skin: Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize, Protect and Exfoliate.

1. Cleanse – Eliminate sweat and dusts on the skin by cleansing it with soap or any of your favorite cleansers. Remember to always be gentle on your skin.
2. Tone – For the face, close those pores by using a toner solution that is best for you.
3. Moisturize – Cleansing and toning processes eliminates the essential oils on the skin. Restore those and maintain skin's elasticity by applying moisturizer.
4. Protect  - UVA/UVB rays are the worst enemies of our skin that leads to aging and wrinkles. Block the harmful rays from entering inside by protecting your skin with sunblock. You will thank it forever.
5. Exfoliate – Human beings are shedding dead skin everyday. Make sure to exfoliate at least thrice a week to totally get rid of those which most of the times causes skin allergies and acne.

I had my Kevlo Signature Facial after then. It took almost an hour. Mind you, it was one of my fastest one hour ever. Maybe because I just didn’t want the facial treatment process to finish just yet. I wished time stopped that moment because it was so relaxing and I really felt I was pampered very well. The therapist who handled me was very polite and friendly. Her very soft hands go very well. We talked a lot of things that ranges from relationships, beauty and life in general.

Based on my experience, I can guarantee that their services exceed its equivalent payment. After all, they aim nothing less for the skin of their clients but all the best, glow and fairness. That is their mission and it is very soothing in the ears. They entrust our skin to their well-trained staff.

Here are the services they offered. Their services are affordable as you can see. A tip for you, visit them on a Monday and avail a 100 peso off on any of their services. Wink!

Get the glow with Kevlo. For more information and inquiry, visit them on Facebook and Instagram or call/dial the numbers stated above. Basta Cebu, KEVLO!

Oh by the way, here is my ice cream. Love, love!

Airplane Mode Dinner at Inflight Cafe

By: Emelie Anggoy on Saturday, June 3, 2017 | 0

"I have not ridden an airplane yet."
Yeah, I know what you are thinking. In fact, most of my friends say it is a joke. I know! It is not that I could not afford, it is just that I am not travelling faraway places right now. My hometown does not have an airport as well so everytime I go home, the ship is always my bestfriend - either tiny or huge. I almost had my first time to ride such gigantic bird machine last few months for a squad escapade to Bacolod, but guess what, I did not show up on my flight day. (Ouch!) It was because I had an obligation to take care in one of the organizations I am in, the Cebu Google Developers Group held an event I could not deny. In order to make the long story short, I ditched my flight and until now I have not ridden an airplane. How come I am laughing typing this?! Lol.

Anyways, eventhough I haven't been in an airplane yet, I get to experience being a pilot for a couple of minutes and had a dinner inside it in one of Cebu's newest cafe - the Inflight Cafe. How cool is that? Very cool! Same as the hugot line "It is okay eventhough there is no us as long as I experience the feeling of being with you." Ganern!

Inflight Cafe is an airplane-setting-inspired resto built and owned by a retired Cebuano pilot. He loves his profession so much and that serves as his motivation in building this rare restaurant. It is located besides the main road of Subangdako, Mandaue City, just across ADG I.T CENTRE and near BIR building.

This cafe is awesome! You can really say that as soon as you will enter the entrance. Situated in the middle, a real airplane cockpit will surprise and welcome you just like what it did to me. The cockpit is where the pilot sits and controls every command of the airplane. Of course I sat and pretended I was a  cool pilot you can ever think of. Hahaha. I touched the steering wheel, controlled any button or switch I saw and wore the iconic headset every pilot is known for.

The place is perfect for you if you want a setting different from the ordinary cafes in the city. It is also a good chitchat spot for you and your squad. The seats of the cafe are absolutely real airplane chairs. The decorations are also real parts of an actual airplane. The waitresses are dressed same as the flight attendants and stewardess.

Here comes the food.

Happy eating! Happy imaginary flying!
